September 2021 Wrap Up ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿงก

No, you're not dreaming. I am actually posting my September Wrap Up on time! I know it's a fall miracle. Anyway, September was the month of the Zodiac Academy & let me just say...these books put me through an emotional ringer!! Like I don't think I've been this frustrated with cliffhangers since my SJM days. I was livid after a few of these (you'll see in my reviews) & I even complained to my fiance about them repeatedly. He took it like a champ, but honestly, I love this series. I am once again extremely thankful for Booktok. So far, it's got a great batting average on recommending me series. I must say I'm not too thrilled to have to wait for the next book to come out (December 18th). Without further ado, let's dive into my thoughts on everything Zodiac Academy.

Official Reviews
Supernatural Beasts & Bullies Series

Book #2: Ruthless Fae ⭐⭐⭐⭐
By: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

About Ruthless Fae:

They tried to break us.
They almost did.
But we're not going anywhere.

The Celestial Heirs think the stars are on their side. But they don't know what's coming. Fighting them one on one isn't an option so we have to be stealthy. Remaining under the radar won't be easy, but if we pull it off, they'll never suspect our involvement when their lives start falling apart.

Besides, they've already taken us to the brink of hell, what more can they really do?

**THIS IS NOT REVERSE HAREM**

This is a paranormal academy bully romance and forbidden teacher romance. Suitable for Upper YA/NA readers who are fans of Shunned, Cruel Magic, and Supernatural Academy.

Hmmm, what’s next--Okay, this series is picking up and I’m intrigued to see how everything is going to play out. I enjoyed getting to read other POVs outside of the twins. That’s some solid insight. I’m also very interested to see how a certain forbidden romance might play out. Who knows? I still don’t trust Diego or the heirs but that’s not overly surprising. I’m really not a fan of daddy Acrux. He is a total jerk and I don’t want to ever see his plan succeed whatever that is anyway. The Nymphs are crazy and I can’t wait to see what the twins' order form is going to be!!

Book #3: The Reckoning ⭐⭐⭐⭐
By: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

About The Reckoning:

The answer to your question will be revealed on the Lunar Eclipse. But when finding the truth, don't let the shadows take you.

The week of The Reckoning has begun. And senior students have been tasked with making the freshmen's lives pure hell as they prepare to take their fateful assessment.

With the Lunar Eclipse on the horizon, Tory and Darcy have more to worry about than just passing their exams. A dark plot is unfolding and the shadows are drawing closer...

Well done--Wow, I devoured this book. I couldn’t wait to read about the next testing. I loved seeing all the drama come into play against the heirs. I am struggling to fully dislike the heirs because man do they make good antagonists. Like I want to hate them but for some reason, I can't get myself to truly loathe them. I know it was only a matter of time before Diego showed his true colors too ;) I will say I’m concerned for a certain forbidden romance but I guess we’ll see how that plays out...I’m excited to see how the Vegas’ order plays into the next book!

Book #4: Shadow Princess ⭐⭐⭐⭐
By: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

About Shadow Princess:

After the events of the Lunar Eclipse, Tory and Darcy must learn to deal with the darkness which shadows their lives.

With a secret binding them to Darius and Orion, they must find a way to all work together for the greater good. But some things are easier said than done...

WHAT THE WHAT--I have no words…how can that be the ending?!? HOW CAN THAT BE?!? Why why why why. I am appalled and torn and I just want to wash my brain of the last 5 chapters. Obviously, I need the next book too. Let me just say Tory royally ticked me off repeatedly throughout this story and ended the book with a big fat middle finger. I really hope the next book has some clarifications. Ugh, I need answers!! Stars can you tell me what I just read? What is going on? Sigh, I thoroughly loved this book and I could not put it down. This series just keeps getting better. Wow.

Book #5: Cursed Fates ⭐⭐⭐⭐
By: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

About Cursed Fates:

After the devastating events at Zodiac Academy, we have to deal with this darker world we're faced with.

Lionel seeks to hurt us, the Nymphs seek to hurt the entire Fae race, and between all of it, we just have to try and survive each day as it comes.

I'm afraid of everything falling apart, but it looks like it already has.

Major ending alert!! WHY ARE THESE ENDINGS LIKE THIS?!? Like cmon can’t we catch a break??? I have more questions than answers and I’m so not ready to read the next book but at the same time, I HAVE TOO. My heart hurts so SO SO badly for the Vega twins and the heirs. Like why must it be this way!? It’s frustratingly good. I love the story and all the progress these characters are making only to run smack dab into a freaking thick brick wall!! I am glad Diego got a good character arc because honestly I was concerned and called my suspicions from book 1. I’m terrified for what comes next but I will be finishing the next book ASAP. I NEED ANSWERS. I need good things to happen, please!!!

Book #6:  Fated Throne⭐⭐⭐⭐
By: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

About Fated Throne:

Fate has torn us apart and sometimes I believe the stars have given up on us altogether.

Without my sister, the world seems darker than ever before and the shadows loom thicker, rising up to answer the call of the Shadow Princess and changing the face of Solaria for good.

My heart hurts from this book. Be prepared for it to be ripped apart & brought back together. I feel so horrible for Tory. Like I know I said she was royally ticking me off, but she did not deserve what happens/happened to her. Why must that happen? Why are the stars so cruel? Also, why can't they defeat the freaking evil scum that is Daddy Acrux & his little minions. I am ready for that to come to an end ASAP. Also, the price is TOO HIGH. There better be a loophole in book 7. That's all I'm going to say. I am not prepared to face that fate & I know my fav group of rebels will fight their hardest to fix this little hiccup. And WTF happened to Darcy??? I am not ready for whatever that shoe is to drop.

On a happier note, I adore the heirs. I am so extremely happy they've been there for Darcy. The heirs' character growth is amazing. The fact that Seth & Darcy can be besties basically is my favorite thing. Seth is literally the human equivalent of a puppy. I really hope he & a certain vampire can figure their crap out. I also hope that Darius can find peace & happiness. I know he & Tory are set up for failure but I REALLY need them to pull through with more than what has been set up for them. Gabriel & Xavier are some of my favorite people. Gabby is just awesome & he is def the best seer ever. I love his witty commentary & his knack for being a sassy boy. Xavier is just a hoot. I love his thoughts on being the head Dom & I'm intrigued to see how his fight for that goes. I know he'll push through. You know who snuck up on me & I'm enjoying? Max. I did not expect to like him so much. Out of all the heirs, he seemed very much on team Anti-Vega, but seeing him help Tory & Darcy is spectacular. I am extremely worried about what this next book will bring & even sadder about the fact that it's not coming out until December!!
